Bold & Adventurous Brand For With a Custom Squarespace Website
Colorado Springs life coach Second Rodeo came to web and brand identity designers Agave Studio for a bold brand that would play off their creative name
We have to admit, when we heard this project might be coming online we decided we needed to design this brand and website no matter what. Ed came to us through our former client and friends over at Yellow Armadillo Studios and we couldn’t be more grateful. It was a real treat to work with Second Rodeo on their new business and brand and we couldn’t be happier with the result.
The Brief
Ed came to us with an idea and a name. “Second Rodeo” is what he wanted to call his new endeavor and the name couldn’t be more fitting. This was to be a coaching business to inspire those who needed some direction in life after a life change or retirement. Ed wanted his brand to of course play off the western and adventurous connotations of name while also being approachable to his target audience. This was a tall order, but the brand identity experts at Agave Studio got to work immediately on creating this fun and creative brand.
The brand wasn’t the only thing Ed needed though. He was starting this new venture from scratch and needed a website as well. Luckily, the Squarespace and web design experts at Agave Studio were able to accommodate such a proposal and deliver the brand and website in scope and on time.
H3: The Process
The process of creating the new brand identity and website for Second Rodeo was a fairly smooth one. We were able to work on the brand and website in tandem since we landed on brand colors and fonts fairly early in the project. We presented Ed with three different options with a mood board of how his brand could look on the web and marketing collateral. This ended up being a tough choice, but we settled on combining two of the stylescapes into one brand.
Once the colors and fonts had been finalized, we got to work on the Squarespace website for the business. The site architecture and pages were laid out with placeholders for the finalized brand as a whole. This ended up allowing us to work on the brand and website in tandem, which in turn really sped up the project schedule. Never a bad thing!
H3: The Result
The result is a bold and adventurous brand that brings in a lot of western connotations. The balanced color palette is warm and inviting while also creating a website that is easy to navigate and read due to the darker colors. The signature piece of the logo is a wonderful bull skull that Ed requested during the design process overlaid with a custom script wordmark that just screams “let’s get you started on your next adventure!” Other features of the brand include a cattle brand style monogram and two different logo versions including the brand tagline “From Success to Significance.”
The fully mobile-responsive Squarespace website is a sight to behold. The Fort Collins web designers at Agave Studio decided to bring in black and white imagery to compliment and contrast with the colors on the site while conveying a certain seriousness. The home page features information about services and links to blog posts to get people engaged. The newsletter sign up is one of the crown jewels of the site. Ed decided on an Agave-designed lead magnet for his newsletter sign-up, and we were able to automate the sending of the lead magnet when potential clients signed up for the email list. On the resources page, Ed links to multiple books using the Squarespace Amazon product block. The site also features a Honeybook integration for Ed to easily collect information on potential leads and have them automatically synced to his CRM. What a jam packed website!
