Agave Studio DEsigns A Vintage-Inspired Brand For Quilt & Pattern Maker

The Fort Collins Logo DEsigners Crushed It With This Hand and Needle Brand

Don’t let the logo fool you… these quilts aren’t your grandmother’s quilts; and we had a blast working with our good friend Rene on her new business venture. She would be selling some very avant garde “Johnson” quilting patterns… get it? In probably the best new client call we had, Rene explained to us her new side-hustle and the idea behind it. We were pretty hooked. Keep reading to find out how the Fort Collins logo designers at Agave Studio walked the fine line with this very interesting brand.

The Brief

Our good friend Rene came to us with a very interesting proposition, that might not be the best word, but something of the sorts. She needed a new brand and logo for her quilting business that provided some very interesting and definitely Rated R quilting patterns and quilts for her clients. The very eggplant shaped patterns weren’t the only quilts she wanted to provide though, so she wanted a fairly vanilla brand and logo to represent her business.

The Process

After doing some discovery with the client, we decided that a vintage inspired logo that really only had a reference to the “Johnson” side of the business in the name. This allows for some exploration of different quilting styles and patterns while not focusing on the “not your Grandmother’s” part of the business.

We presented the client with two different options, both vintage inspired and both using some very eye-catching colors and typefaces. One used an initial concept that the client was using currently with a needle and thread forming the letter “J” in the logo, cute right? The logo designers came up with a different concept that included a hand holding a needle with thread. A continuation of the current logo that the client was using.

After a few design revisions, the result is a fantastic brand for a quilting business that produces some very interesting and beautiful quilts.

The Result

The final product for the brand is a vintage-inspired logo and brand identity that can be used in a variety of different uses. The logo designers at Agave Studio provided a few different designs for the logo so the client could use it on social media, business cards, their website… anything! Check out the final product below and let us know what you think.
