If you know us here at Agave, you know we love plants. That’s why we were so excited when Stem & Roots in Fort Collins reached out to us to help them out with a brand new website for their business. This little houseplant store on College Avenue has been our favorite store since they opened and being able to get them on the web was such a fun experience. Continue reading to learn more about our process to get Stem & Roots online; and how we used the amazing Squarespace features to automate a huge section of their business for them.
The Brief
A website is an almost essential tool for business owners in today’s digital age. Stem & Roots had just gotten started with a Google MyBusiness and Instagram, but needed to expand onto a website. The website’s main goal needed to be for booking their amazing terrarium bar for parties and events to take some of the work off the staff. The other main goal was to have essentially a digital business card to let potential customers know everything about the business, what they offer, and how they got started. Stem & Roots already had a great logo and color scheme to work with, and Agave just took what they already had a created a beautiful website to match.
The process
The Fort Collins Squarespace web designers and developers at Agave Studio got to work building the new website for Stem & Roots with the brief in mind. We used extensive pictures of the shop’s interior and exterior and included special pages such as a page for events and a blog. The houseplant boutique has occasional “plant drops” where they offer rare plants for sale and “plant swaps” where plant parents around Fort Collins can come and sell or swap their plants. The Squarespace events page allows them to post these events in advance and allow people to sign up if they want to be a vendor. The main feature of the site is the setup of Squarespace Scheduling. This allows Stem & Roots to essentially automate their entire scheduling process for their terrarium bar and other services. That takes a lot of work off the staff!
The REsult
The result is a beautiful and functional Squarespace website for a great small business here in Fort Collins. The Scheduling app is easy to use and notifies the staff when they get a new appointment. The website design incorporates plant illustrations to really bring the jungle to the pages and uses an Earth-toned color scheme to match their brand. Overall, the site is a great starting point to help this small business grow their online presence.
